E3 2007 impressions

This year's down-sized Electronic Entertainment Expo had a few nice things to show. These are the games I'm mostly looking forward to (in order of hotness!) :

Wii Fit - Comes together with a balance board!!! Too bad I can't do push-ups... Finally! Some costless yoga! It's so "classy"! Who isn't expecting this? Nice leg cramps and lumbagos everyone!



Super Mario Galaxy - The senile moustached plumber from Italy can turn into a ghost and a cutsie-wutsie bee! Plus, graphics the Wii doesn't have to be ashamed of! At last!



LittleBigPlanet - The physics-based mechanics of this little PS3 gem and its adorable backdrops, characters, tools and stuff outshine my fear of not knowing how the heck it's going to play after you create your stage. Don't care that much. I always loved Play-Doh and Lego. Trial and error platform gaming I'd call it. With tons of creativity! Certainly a system-seller for me.



Silent Hill V - Yeap, Konami is going to release the sequel to its brilliantly disturbing series in 2008 for the X360 and PS3. Not much of a trailer this one, not even a teaser, but I can't wait! I always loved this franchise. You play an ex-marine who's in search for his sole friend in life, his brother, after they both lost their mother. Wonder where he might have ended up... Right, you guessed it. In our lovely town of Silent Hill!

Metal Gear Solid 4 - The last in the series said Kojima. That's what he had said for #2 and #3 as well. Also, a PS3 exclusive (woo-hoo! It's like a miracle! The PS3 getting a hold of an exclusive, for real!). Anything can change of course... Till 2008, when you'll be dancing with blades and bullets together with long lost friends... Fox-Die never does kill...

Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure - Capcom's take on the Wii, with a puzzle-solving adventure for all ages. Use what you find to proceed through dangerous environments in your search for treasure as pirate-kid Zack!

The game looks childish, which suits me just fine, but I've been told that it's not as easy as it seems. I was thinking of ordering the DS game in the series, but since it's coming out for the Wii, I'll wait, hoping for a European release... Aah, the beauty of the DS is its region free gaming!

FFCC: The Crystal Bearers trailer

No release date as of yet, just a "coming soon" notice at the end, but I'm really excited for the first Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles title coming out for the Wii game console. As far as it goes with the Crystal Chronicles spin-off of the FF series, that never scored high in reviews, though the visuals were of top-notch quality as always. Also coming out from Square-Enix is Ring of Fates for the Nintendo DS, supposedly interconnected with the Crystal Bearers title. The enemies look unique, to me at least who's never played the CC game before, they don't resemble regular FF foes and the main character is not that androgynous this time around. What looks like an action-RPG in the style of Zelda may well amaze or disappoint us, as the fighting system isn't quite clear yet. We 'll just have to wait and see! The trailer was shown during this month's Nintendo summit.

Super Mario Galaxy

OK, where do I sign up for the ride??? Incredible graphics for a Wii game! Mario in space! Scheduled for release in 2007, I don't think we'll see this before summer, but it's in my to-buy list already! Game Developers Conference trailer from the Nintendo presentation.

If I had company at the moment I'd name this “Wii post”. These last few days were a blast. Wii (me and some friends) have played Sports and silly little games, created our Mii-s and even voted on the Everybody Votes Channel. Right now I'm online, posting on my blog using the Internet Channel. Tricky, but cool!! Today I went back to my gaming days. Spent the morning random battling with my thief, white and red mage and warrior in Final Fantasy III and the afternoon Zelda: Twilight Princess made me its bitch for 4 whole hours. Or was that Midna... Hahaha. Anyways, gotta go back to the real world! More, normal, posts coming soon!

A Love Story

Ήταν έρωτας με την πρώτη ματιά. Η λευκή του επιδερμίδα, το γαλάζιο των ματιών του, πως ξεχώριζε η λάμψη του μέσα στη νύχτα.

Η πρωτοποριακή του κίνηση, μια κίνηση χωρίς περιορισμούς και μπερδέματα. Θα ερχόταν το Δεκέμβριο. Αλλά εγώ δε μπόρεσα. Ίσως να μην ήμουν αρκετά δυναμικός.

Η πρώτη μας γνωριμία έγινε στο σπίτι του Σ. Καθόταν ήσυχα πλάι στην τηλεόραση, αθόρυβα. Συντροφιά του έκαναν παιχνίδια και καλώδια. Αφανής ήρωας. Στα χέρια μου στέλνονταν μηνύματα που διοχετεύονταν σε όλο μου το κορμί. Ψίθυροι και ήχοι και αισθήσεις πρωτόγνωρες.

Συναντηθήκαμε και πάλι. Πριν μια βδομάδα. Αυτή τη φορά με τον Πασχάλη και τη Ζωή στο πλάι μου, να με στηρίζουν. Στο Media Markt. Τυχαία. Στο διάδρομο των ηλεκτρονικών παιχνιδιών όπου είχα πάει να κοιτάξω τις προσφορές. 2 ώρες επικοινωνούσαμε. Παίξαμε διάφορα σπορ όλοι μαζί παρέα και αναγκαστικά αποχαιρετιστήκαμε και πάλι. Είχα τρελαθεί. Δεν ήξερα τι να κάνω. Οι φίλοι μου με προέτρεπαν να μη ντραπώ, να κάνω την κίνηση. Το πήρα απόφαση κι εγώ. Για το χατήρι όλων μας!

Χθες λοιπόν ήρθε σπίτι μου. Έψαξα παντού αρχικά. Όπου σύχναζε. Και βρεθήκαμε. Μπήκε στο αυτοκίνητο και κάναμε βόλτες σε όλα τα στέκια του, πριν σταθεί δίπλα στο τζάκι. Του άρεσε. Η Ζωή ήρθε μετά σπίτι να με βοηθήσει με τη διπλωματική και ξανασυστήθηκαν. Ήθελα να έρθει και ο Πασχάλης αλλά δε μπορούσε. Τρελή συμπάθεια!

Κοιμήθηκε εδώ το βράδυ... Το πρωί του είπα την πιο γλυκιά καλημέρα. Η μέρα των ερωτευμένων σήμερα άλλωστε... Βέβαια, υπήρχε και κάποιος που ήθελε να μπει ανάμεσα μας. Το όνομα αυτού; Αέναος... Ενώ έμπαινα στο δικό του μπλογκ με τη βοήθεια του, η μουσική του Ιντιάνα Τζόουνς μας ζάλισε και κόλλησε... Είμαι σίγουρος πως ήταν ένα σατανικό σχέδιο του Αέναου για να μας χωρίσει. Επειδή μας είδε τόσο ερωτευμένους!

Τώρα λέω τα νέα της σχέσης μας σε όλους μου τους φίλους. Ο Γιώργος μου έδινε συμβουλές. Τον έπρηξα και γω στις ερωτήσεις. Πάω να βγω στο μπαλκόνι να φωνάξω δυνατά πόσο χαρούμενος αισθάνομαι...

Wii μου, σε λατρεύω!
