Top 3 Tunes (24-30.05)

Oops I did it again! OMG no don't think this is a featured song for the week! I just managed to be late for posting this entry xD

My grand prize winners this week were the following:

No.1 : James Blunt - Wisemen

No.2 : Juli - Geile Zeit

No.3 : Tim Booth - Monkey God

What would "wisemen" like a monkey god (oxymoron) do in their... geile Zeit? I wonder...

Björk VS Reporter

Found this on Kotaku and wanted to show it to all the Björk fans out there! This bitch is crazy! LOL!

Well, to her defense, I should say that according to Wikipedia, she said that this reporter stuck a microphone in her son's face, prompting her to attack. Bjork later called the reporter and apologized, and the reporter declined to press charges against her.

I'll leave the comments to you! xD You know who you are!

P.S. Also according to Wikipedia, Björk rhymes with jerk! She said so herself! Hahaha! ^_^"

My sweet DSC-W100

I got a digicam at long last! Here's the first pic I took with it! It's nothing much but I love my new digicam! Yay! OMG I'm so hyper at the moment my heart hurts!!! XD

Lots of kisses to all my friends! Sham or not ;)

Read Sony Cybershot DSC-W100 specifications HERE!

P.S. I used only 5 from the 8.10 Mpixel since I don't need such detail to capture my face XD Oh! Used red-eye reduction too ^_^

P.S.2 Please don't mind my jackets hanging, the mess to the right or anything in this pic. I'm not a professional photographer and it was taken in the spur of the moment without arranging anything.

P.S.3 paskalip if you're reading this, I want Photoshop!!! Puhleaaaaase!?! ^_^

Froogle fever!

Thanks to my friend Chris (make sure you visit his new blog) and the magic of Froogle, I decided to spend some time on making a "wishlist". Imagine you're planning the perfect wedding and you don't want yet another coffee-maker. So you make a wishlist and send it to your friends to find out what you really want and need. If you visit my updated profile on the right of this blog you can view my own wishlist as well! It was so fun making it and finding all the things I'm thinking of buying! Try it out! xD

P.S. I could only find things with prices in $ instead of euro... Bah... >_< It would be even cooler if I could find things in the local market online...

Top 3 Tunes (17-23.05)

So my 2 new addictions, Rain and Dima Bilan and the most upbeat song these past few months, all come together to make my favourite this week:

No.1 : UVERworld - Colors of the Heart

No.2 : Dima Bilan - Never Let You Go

No.3 : Rain - It's Raining

Poor Dima, you came second again! LOL! But really, UVERworld have outbested themselves with this highly addictive tune. The sighing voice of the lead singer is hooking as well!

So here you have them! Enjoy!

P.S. Don't be fooled (by the rocks that I've got, I'm still I'm still Jenny from the block? Nope... Where is this ho anyways? She got herself pregnant with that scarecrow of a husband and cancelled her tour!) by the titles of the songs, only Dima's is in English. He'll be releasing an english album soon too! *waits patiently*

Looking at Defrag by nebu inspired me to write something once again. fragmented is the title.

drive through my skull
i ve used all the morphine i could find
immobilized nullified
i won t feel a thing
or so i hope

pulverize my brain

the weight of thoughts is unbearable

repressed words held tween gritted teeth

fuck my soul

you horn of plenty

naked an abomination

a hidden disease

but look at me!

all dressed up

most phony a smile

savour every second

just revel in my pain

Finland wins ESC '06

Lordi, the "monster-band" from Finland, put up a hell of a show and rose to victory with 292 points. Look at the score-board HERE.

Rav showed me an interesting game to play during the next Eurovision Song Contest. The ESC Drinking Game! I'll make everyone play it next year!

Greece won 9th place, at least we won't have to qualify to the finals through a semifinal. It was sad that "outsiders" climbed way up high on the score ladder... Ukraine, Lithuania (gags once more), Armenia!!! Come on!!! Why???

I wanted Russia to win. I think Dima Bilan was worth the first place... Loved the song plus he is hot. LOL!

Well... See ya in cold Finland in 2007 Eurovision people! ^_^

P.S. Is it time for Despina Vandi to go to ESC now? Or would we be better off with Vera Lambrou?

Weekend Wall 11

I couldn't choose one this week... Well this is the one I did choose, again found on hongfire, supposedly from a Korean MMORPG. It's cute but a bit too washed-out for my taste.

Eurovision 2006 : Semifinal results

It's a huge thing for us Greeks to prevail in Eurovision. We give everything we have, like we're curing cancer or something. It's just a silly music competition you retards! I really enjoy watching Eurovision each day, of course rooting for my country, but mainly I enjoy watching the whole show and each of the other countries' songs.

This year as well, there was a semifinal during which 10 countries got enough votes to proceed to the final on Saturday. These are:

Dima Bilan - Never Let You Go (Russia)
Elena Risteska - Ninanajna (F.Y.R. Macedonia)
Hari Mata Hari - Lejla (Bosnien & Herzegovina)
LT United - We Are The Winners (Lithuania)
Lordi - Hard Rock Hallelujah (Finland)
Tina Karol - Show Me Your Love (Ukraine)
Brian Kennedy - Every Song Is A Cry For Love (Ireland)
Carola - Invincible (Sweden)
Sibel Tuzun - Super Star (Turkey)
Andre - Without Your Love (Armenia)

I'll say this: Lithuania??? WTF??? I have no grudge against the country, lol, but OMG the song was AWFUL! I believe a lot of people thought so too, so they voted it thinking it wouldn't mind and it would make the competition easier... Now look what you've done...

I'll say it once more... LITHUANIA??? *gags*

COME ON!!! Where's Andorra (yeah I loved the blob in her underwear)? Slovenia (his song was so upbeat)? BELGIUM??? OMG where the hell is my Kate Ryan? Her long legs??? T_T I'm certain her song will become a hit although she didn't qualify! And yes, I loved Silvia Night A LOT too! Where's she? T_T

Let's see what our fate will be this Saturday at 22:00...

2006 TIME 100

Continuing its annual tradition, TIME magazine came up with a poll for the 100 most influencial people in the world for the year 2006. Each week, a new poll was introduced to the public, so that anyone could vote for whom they believed revolutionized a certain field.

Voted each week were Heroes & Icons, Leaders & Revolutionaries, Builders & Titans, Artists & Entertainers and Scientists & Thinkers.

Bono, Condoleezza Rice, Steeve Jobs, Ang Lee and Al Gore were crowned first respectively.

What interested me the most though, was that Rain came second (28% vs the 34% of Ang Lee, with Clint Eastwood following at 16%) in the Artists & Entertainers category and first among everyone at influence ratings and readers picks.

Click on his name above (real name Jeong Ji-Hoon) to learn more about this Korean idol and world wide sensation and click HERE to see what TIME wrote for choosing him to be in this particular category.

I'd suggest you listen to "It's raining" by Rain or 비 (Bi - read like "bee") as he's known in Korea, which reminds of Usher (one of Rain's favourite artists). You should also watch the clip on YouTube (bad quality but has english subtitles!) to It's raining, paying attention to his cool dancing!

Top 3 Tunes (10-16.05)

Rock tunes this week! Hooray! I probably have to explain a bit about my music interests. I'm a music person in general, I can listen to almost anything from classical music to screamo, as long as the song clicks with me somehow. This could either mean the rhythm and the music or the lyrics, or an even trifler thing such as how a certain word is being sung. I have to listen to songs a couple of times before I can tell if they're good or bad (always according to my tastes). Then I just play them on endless repeat... Till I get bored of the same "old" songs... xD My record is 58 times in a single day I think... I won't tell you which song that was ;) Yet... LOL! I was really blue that day.

No.1 : The Cinematics - Break

No.2 : Theory of a DeadMan - Santa Monica

No.3 : Staind - Right Here

So this week take a Break to Santa Monica and who knows, maybe you'll find out that whatever you were looking for was Right Here, instead of there, with you, all along...

Fahrenheit

Long story short: Had money, wanted Shadow Hearts 2: Covenant, came back with Fahrenheit cause I couldn't find the first one. Yeap, I'm the kind of person who HAS to buy something when he has money, I should restrain that splurging urge of mine.

Is this game worth buying?

Well you don't have to spend a lot of time to complete it, not more than 6 or 7 hours, but the choices and actions you take affect the latter part of the story. It's you who make the progress of this inventive cinematic-thriller, action-adventure game.

There are parts which feel frustrating, so much that you'll want to smash your console and not just your controller and the camera isn't that helpful. I found myself running to walls and towards the exact opposite of where I thought my character would supposedly go. Some other times, the "I flash you push" rhythm actions are annoying too...

The good thing is the story is captivating, based on previously treaded themes but giving a new breath of fresh air. Well it's true for the 2/3 of the story. The last one... well I'll let you figure it out yourself. The soundtrack is great as well, featuring Simone, Badalamenti and Theory of a DeadMan.

So to answer the above question: You'd better rent it. Don't go as far as I did and buy it. Not worth that much...

And another question to anyone who cares: What's up with the Matrix references people? I HATED those sequels... Let go already! Everyone has done it! Sheesh...

Weekend Wall 10

Oops! Almost forgot about this week's post! Phew! Just made it in time! What was I doing? I wonder... You wonder... You'll find out I guess... Or maybe you won't... LOL! Being secretive is fun! But anyone can read me like an open book. Except for my deepest thoughts.

I love this wallpaper. It's been a while since I found it online. The character is from a Korean RPG call Magna Carta. From what I'm hearing, it's quite the rage in Asia.

The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy and other stories

Tim Burton, acclaimed director of films such as Edward Scissorhands, Nightmare Before Christmas, The Corpse Bride and so many more, is the author of the aforementioned title. Simply by looking at the title of the book my friend Taty showed me this afternoon, I was certain I'd buy it. That little black book with nothing more than silver words on the cover and a little sketch seemed quite promising. When it came to the author's name, I thought it was a joke.

I remember seeing little figurines of strange characters created by Burton's incomparable imagination at my local comic-book store some years ago. Characters like The Boy with Nails in his Eyes, The Girl with Many Eyes, Stain Boy... About 8 as far as I can remember.

So, we fought over the book, as I quickly read through the first story. The little drawings accompanying the short stories are really unique, as are the figurines I'd seen back then. The stories themselves well... They're weird, ranging from dark and serious to pointless and total whack.

I read it in about an hour. Tops. And it is more than 100 pages long... Now try to imagine how short a short story we're talking about! It was a nice read through though. I'll be checking back to it for reference later. Some nice quotes in there...

Top 3 Tunes (03-09.05)

You have to get Massive Attack's latest album! Collected, brings forth what it promises, a collection of greatest hits from the popular UK-based band and a second CD featuring some new songs. Notice their collaboration with Elizabeth Fraser on the No.1 place. Her dreamy vocals and abstract, indecipherable lyrics can travel you. She is the voice of their famous Teardrop single as well.

No.1 : Massive Attack - Silent Spring

No.2 : Red Hot Chili Peppers - Dani California

No.3 : Massive Attack - Teardrop

I have been a bit occupied with something other than studying today, so I won't elaborate any more. Listen and enjoy! I have to say sorry to my friend Taty first and then to myself. Tomorrow I'll make up for all lost time!

Weekend Wall 9

A mockery of Nirvana's simply perfect Nevermind album, which earned the title of best album cover ever, here is Bart Simpson, an innocent (?) young boy, tempted by the corrupting power of the Krusty Buck...

Top 3 Tunes (26.04-02.05)

I'm down lately, due to stress and immeasureable strains of thought. Too much thinking may damage your brain believe me. So, once upon a time, I had a friend, she made a CD out of her favourite tunes and they were sulky as hell. My heart's in the gutter at the moment so I try to lose myself in nothingness to find myself. It's such a shame that my whole being is enveloped in the same "Silent hill-ish darkness" and I wait the moment I'll say: Goodnight Moon... I want the sun in my life. DARN! Don't you break out in tears stupid oni! T_T

No.1 : Depeche Mode - Only When I Lose Myself

No.2 : Replique Feat. Shirin - Such A Shame

No.3 : Shivaree - Goodnight Moon
